Since I did an article about morning tea, it is only right to do one of evening tea. Evening tea.
When I think of drinking evening tea. It all depends on my mood and what I want to support in moving forward for my evening until I sleep. Generally it'll be more subtle teas to ease the digestion and nervous system.
Each herb I bring up in the article, I will go into detail at the end of the article of their benefits.
Being in Mexico growing up or having family members visit us in Cali. My fam will drink cafe at night with pan de dulce. It was a thing. I will drink my Hot Chocolate. When my stomach was upset, my mama will give tea de manzana and she will put cinnamon. So Chamomile tea with cinnamon.
For quite some time I started drinking Cacao at night, since it reminded me of the hot chocolate I drank as a child. I remember I was working graveyards and I started drinking between these herbs; Damiana, Mullein, Eleuthero and Tribulus. I used these herbs to give me energy through out the night. [So.. great morning teas.. haha]
Then around this time I was learning about chai tea, golden milk latte, and then chaga. All these drink I usually drank at night. Started experimenting with mugworts and blue valerian the potent herbs for sleeping.
Then I dabbled a little on some ayurvedic herbs for the night. Which honestly I saw a lot of benefits for night time that aided in digestion. I don't have so much knowledge on these to reference.
Lately I keep it simple and drink ginger root tea or turmeric root tea at night to help aid with digestion and anti-inflammatory. I am drinking chanca piedra in the evenings to clean out my liver, latest I will drink that tea is around 6pm since the tea helps flush out.
So like always experiment on what herbs call you to create a relationship with. Our bodies always tell us the truth in what it needs!
